John Hooks – BA (Oxon) English Language and Literature – is Associate Partner of ADMETAM Business Consultants srl. He has had an extensive career in the luxury fashion industry. He started as commercial director for the Valentino prêt-à-porter collection in the mid 1980’s. Early 1990’s, he was one of the first fashion executives to be based in mainland China, also establishing regional subsidiaries in China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia. From 1995 to 2000 he acted as commercial and retail Director of a German top-luxury brand followed by 12 years at Giorgio Armani, becoming Deputy Chairman of the company. From 2011 to 2014 he was Group President for Europe and the Middle East of one of the most important American luxury brand and thereafter appointed senior adviser at McKinsey & Company until 2021. Mr. Hooks held and holds several Non-Executive Director positions, among others of Manchester United plc since 2012. His primary focus is on strategic and structural realignment, business development and networking, sales and marketing of fashion brands as well as mergers and acquisitions.
